Notes: Thomas Perry's first wife was Lillian Loos, daughter of John Loos and Mary Miller. Lillian was born in Chicago between 1887-1889. Her first marriage was to Lawrence Grimes, a union that produced two children. Thomas and Lillian married June 15, 1916 in Chicago. By the 1920 Census, the marriage to Thomas was over and she was back to using the last name Grimes.

Thomas signed his WWI Draft Registration Card on September 2, 1918. He was living with his first wife, Lillian Loos, and her mother Mary, at 4055 Arthington Street, Chicago, Illinois. Thomas was working as a painter for John L. Driscroll, 3114 West Harrison Street, Chicago, IL. |

Thomas was living in Chicago in 1920 when he met Martha Abraham at a carnival. She thought he was cute and followed him until they talked to each other. They were married soon after by Rev. Francis Mirek, Priest, at 2017 Carolina Street, Chicago, Illinois. |

Thomas converted to Catholicsm in 1949, and was baptized into the Catholic Church on March 2, 1950 at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 2411 Montrose Avenue, Montrose, California. His Sponsors were Thomas C. Welch and Lorraine M. Curry. |
|
Thomas was a building contractor and built many of the homes in which he and family lived, as well as those of his siblings. |

Notes: Martha worked at Salerno Cookie factory. She loved to play rummy and when she won, her husband would be upset and throw his cards, much like her son, Tom, did later in life. She also read tea leaves. Thomas would tell her what he saw in the leaves, and she would interpret them by a book that she had. |

Obituary: MARTHA WELCH, Services were Monday for Martha Welch, 87, who died Saturday, September 25, at a Glendale hospital. She was born in Chicago and had lived many years in Montrose. Mrs. Welch is survived by her daughter, Lorraine Curry of Montrose, and one son, Thomas Welch of Chicago. Mass at Holy Redeemer Church and interment at Calvary Cemetery were arranged at Crippen Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Heart Fund.
