Obituary: Lela Clear, 84, mother of Phyllis Custer, of Garrett, died Sunday at 3:15 p.m. in DeKalb Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Clear was born September 24, 1906, in Spencerville to Charles Albert And Anna E. (Renn) Houghton. She married Jasper J. Clear on February 2, 1938, in Whiting. He preceded her in death in September of 1972. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Surviving are two sons, two other daughters, Eleanor J. Prokopakis, of Santa Clara, California, and Marilyn E. Fee, of Montpelier, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Mrs. Clear was a homemaker and resided in Butler. She was a member of the Butler Church of Christ and the Heimach Senior Center in Auburn. Services were Wednesday in the Butler Church of Christ with Pastor Dale Rabineau officiating. Burial was in the Circle Hill Cemetery, Hudson. Feller Funeral Home, Waterloo, was in charge of arrangements.Preferred memorials are to the Church. |
