Obituary: DON EMOREL CLEAR, age 83, of Kendallville died on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Muncie Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Muncie. Mr. Clear was born in Continental , Ohio on December 9, 1924 to Louie Emorel and Flossie May (Richards) Clear. He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1942 and married his wife, Gladys Irene Zerkle on February 5, 1944 at the United Brethren Church parsonage in Corunna. She preceded his death December 11, 2006. He was a foreman with at Quick Tanks in Kendallville where he was employed for worked 23 years. He was a member of the First Church of God in Kendallville and enjoyed gardening, working in his orchard, woodworking and helping others. Survivors include: Daughter, Rochelle Williford of Muncie ; Daughter, Shelia Ulery of Waterloo ; Seven grandchildren: Jerald Furrow of Waterloo, Danny Furrow of Waterloo, Everett Furrow of Waterloo, Sam Woods of Kendallville, Stan Woods of Kendallville, Jake Woods of Auburn, and Danetta Hawk of Muncie. 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren . He was also preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Jaspar, Darrel, and Cecil Clear and sisters; May Henderson, Ruby Mell, Irene Chadwick, Olive Hankey, and Lela Schmidt. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 5, 2008, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at 10:00am at Hite Funeral Home. Obituary: GLADYS IRENE CLEAR, age 80, died on Monday, December 11, 2006 at Wesley Healthcare in Auburn, Indiana. Mrs. Clear was born in Corunna, Indiana on January 25, 1926 to Ford Daniel and Luella Faye (Vian) Zerkle. Her parents preceded her death. She married Don Emorel Clear on February 5, 1944 in the United Brethren Church parsonage in Corunna. She was a homemaker and member of First Church of God in Kedallville. For many years, Mrs. Clear baked cookies each week and delivered them to the people at Sacred Heart Home in Avilla and was always thinking of other people. She enjoyed craftwork, cooking, and baking. Survivors include: Her husband of 62 years, Don Clear of Auburn and formerly of Kendallville. Daughter, Shelia Ulrey of Waterloo.Daughter, Rochelle Williford of Kendallville. 7 grandchildren; Jerald Furrow of Waterloo, Daniel Furrow of Waterloo, Everett Furrow of Waterloo, Samuel Woods of Kendallville, Stan Woods of Kendallville, Jeremy Woods of Auburn and Danetta Hawk of Muncie. 20 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
