Notes: Chester's first wife was Cora L. Smail, daughter of George Smail and Emma Dailey. Cora was born in Indiana in December of 1881. Chester and Cora married April 13, 1900 in Randolph County, Indiana. They had two children. (See Below) Chester and Cora's divorce became final on August 26, 1910, and it was noted in the Union City Times in Randolph County, Indiana. Cora died sometime after this in Indiana.

Chester was living at 234 Portland, Jay City, Indiana, when he regisitered for the draft on September 12, 1918. He was 38 years old at the time and an insurance agent. |

In 1930, Chester's occupation is listed as a Carpenter, building houses with his brother Thomas Perry Welch. Later, Chester owned a Soda Fountain in Drug Store in Pasadena, California.

Donald enlisted in the United States Navy on November 17, 1942, and served in WWII aboard the USS Princeton. He was a seaman second class. Service No. 386-37-23.
