Obituary: Violet M. McClure, 90, of Grover Hill, died at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2007, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert. She was born December 28, 1916, in Grover Hill, the daughter of the late Foy D. and Ida Mae (Clear) Fruchey. On December 20, 1935, she married V. Everett McClure, who died May 14, 1963. Mrs. McClure was a homemaker and was Paulding County recorder for 12 years, Paulding County deputy treasurer for eight years, a cook at Grover Hill School and former owner of McClure’s Market and Locker in Grover Hill. She attended Zion United Methodist Church in Grover Hill and had formerly attended Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert. She also had been involved with youth programs at Zion United Methodist Church. Survivors include five sons, Dana D. (Sue) McClure of Mansfield, Russell R. (Barbara) McClure of Fort Wayne, Ind., Larry L. (Deb) McClure of Van Wert, Earl (Allison) McClure of Payne and Vinal V. (Leslie) McClure of Grover Hill; two daughters, M. Marie (Rex) Davis of Grover Hill and Cleona (Garry) Miller of Van Wert; 15 grandchildren; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Leo and Cloyd Fruchey, and two sisters, Edna Fast and Lillian Fruchey, also preceded her in death.

Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Leo and Cloyd Fruchey; and two sisters, Edna Fast and Lillian Fruchey.Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Grover Hill Zion United Methodist Church with Revs. Bo Chrisman and Paul Miller officiating. Burial will be in Middle Creek Cemetery, Grover Hill. Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Friday in Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home, Van Wert, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
