Notes: Before her marriage to Edward Welch, Lavina was married to Joseph Severe Nation. He was born in 1844. They married on December 25, 1865. ((Marriage License) Lavina and Joseph had one child together - Charles 'Charlie' Nation. Joseph died on February 23, 1872, and is buried in Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton, Ohio.

Notes: Edward was a Civil War veteran who enlisted twice, and served from 1862 to 1869. His first enlistment was on November 15, 1862, with Company C of the Tenth Regiment of Ohio Calvary. He was discharged on July 24, 1865, in Lexington, North Carolina, "by reason of Order of Sec. War." His second enlistment was on February 23, 1866, with Company C of the 18th Infantry/36th Infantry, discharged February 23, 1869, Camp Douglas, Utah, for "expiration of service."

Lavina and Edward moved to Oregon in 1909 with their daughter, Emma, Emma's husband, George W. Wunder, and their two children, Eugene George and Lois Lucille.
