Obituary: Charles Clear, aged 63 years, son of the late Mr. And Mrs. Hawkins Clear and a lifelong resident of Eaton, died early last Saturday morning in the home of his sister, Mrs. Minnie Schillingford, on the Richmond pike, just to the west of Eaton. For the past eight years he had been in a Dayton hospital, but was returned to Eaton only a couple of days before his death. He was for years an employee of the Hieland sawmill, and had also served as a night policeman in Eaton. His father was for years an assistant and sexton at Mound Hill Cemetery. The sister is the closest surviving relative. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at theSchillingford home, Rev. Ivan R. Smith, pastor of the Congregational Christian Church, officiating. Burial was in Mound Hill Cemetery.
 
Obituary: FORMER POLICEMAN AT EATON DIES SATURDAY. Charles Clear, 62, who served for 18 years as night policeman in Eaton, died Saturday morning in the home of his sister, Mrs. Minnie Schillingford, near Eaton. He was removed to the sister's home from a Dayton hospital the previous Thursday. The sister is the only immediate survivor. Joe Clear of Lewisburg was a second cousin. Funeral services were held at the Schillingford house Monday afternoon. Burial was in Mound Hill Cemetery.
