Notes: John Albert Stillwell Jr. was a blacksmith in Grover Hill, Ohio.
John and Sarah had eight children, however, three sons and one daughter all died in infancy. Their last child, John Albert, was born several months after his father's death.

Obituary: John Albert Stillwell son of John and Sarah A. Stillwell was born in Springfield, Clark Co, Ohio, December 21, 1857 and departed this life at Grover Hill Ohio, July 19, 1908, aged 50 years, 6 months and 28 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Maggie Garrison July 7, 1889. To this union was born seven children, five sons and two daughters, five of whom have preceded him to the better land, and two of them are still living. He leaves a wife and two sons, Lawrence and Gaylord, and three brothers, George Stillwell of Carp Lake, Michigan, Charles Stillwell of Norfolk, Virginia, Steve Stillwell of Kokomo, Indiana, and three sisters, Emma Clear, Alice Fouts and Ella Emerick all of Grover Hill to mourn their loss.
He was a charter member of Floral Lodge No 814, I.O.O.F., Grover Hill, Ohio, being a true and faithful Odd Fellow.He served about seven years in the U.S. regular army. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and also of the Modern Woodmen, in which he carried a policy of $1000. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 22, at 10 o'clock, at the Christian church, being conducted by Rev. L. B. Smith. Interment at Middle Creek Cemetery under the auspices of the I. O. O. F. Lodge. |
