Note: In the photo above, Foy Fruchey is seen with a bandage over his eye. This injury is the result of an accident with a firearm. Following is the transcript of an article that appeared in The Grover Hill Reporter. You may also view the actual newspaper clipping.

A Peculiar Case: The Grover Hill Reporter, edited by B.H. Heaton, a Delphos boy, tells of a peculiar incident there. Four years ago Foy Fruchey was injured by a rifle bursting when he discharged it. His face was lacerated somewhat, but a physician sewed up his wounds. One of his eyes was blown out. During the years that followed Fruchey had the opinion that there was something in his head that should not be there, but it seemed only a fancy. Wednesday evening he felt something working down into his mouth and went to a doctor's office. His jaws became locked and it was with some difficulty that they were forced open. After considerable trouble, the breach pin of the rifle that had bursted four years before was pulled from the roof of Fruchey's mouth. It was three inches long and as thick as the middle finger of one's hand. It is supposed that the pin flew into Fruchey's mouth when the gun bursted, with such force that it was embedded in the lower part of the face and had gradually been working out during the past four years.
