Obituary for Edna Myrtle Clear's husband, Lee Cordy:

Lee Cordy, age 82, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2008. Born in Perrysburg on March 4, 1926, to James and Lucille (Lyon) Cordy, he moved to Waterville upon entering seventh grade at the Waterville school and entered the U.S. Air Force in 1944. He was in pilot’s training at the close of World War II in 1945. Mr. Cordy was a life member of Local 18 Operating Engineers, out of which he worked at many refinery building and setting vessel jobs and the construction of the turnpike, I-75 and 475 and Davis Besse, among others. He owned a crating company designing and building specialized crates.
Mr. Cordy married Edna Clear more than 61 years ago and they had two sons, Robert and Richard Cordy. In addition to his wife and sons, he is survived by grandsons, Jeffery and Calvin Cordy; sister, Nita (Ron) Hosterman; and brothers, Dale (Nancy), Jerry (Cathy) and Denny (Nancy). He was preceded in death by a grandson, Thomas Cordy, and Tom’s wife Lisa and their two sons, Brad Lee and Andrew Cordy; his parents; stepmother, Virginia Cordy; and brother, Michael.
Family and friends were received on October 26 at the Peinert Funeral Home in Tontogany, where funeral services took place on October 27, followed by burial in Wakeman Cemetery in Waterville. The family extends thanks to the very kind, generous and giving people of Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
