Obituary: WATERVILLE WOMAN HAD BEEN ILL FOR SEVEN MONTHS. Waterville - Last rites for Mrs. Marie Augusta Clear, who died Tuesday, were held from Zion Lutheran Church, Waterville, Friday at 2:30 pm with the Schmid Funeral Home in charge. The Rev. Conrad J. Buehler officiated and Mrs. Donald Hahn presided at the organ. Interment was in the Waterville Cemetery. Mrs. Clear, the daughter of Michael Joseph Steger and wife Augusta nee Mamofska, was born September 21, 1915 in Toledo and at an early age was baptized in the parental home by the Rev. Harry Long. Her childhood was spent in Sylvania. She was bereft of her mother at the age of six weeks and was raised by her grandmother until the age of eight when she made her home with her sister Gertrude. Her schooling was received in the Sylvania public school and Burnham High School. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Petri Lutheran Church in May 1929. Marie was united in Holy wedlock to Doyle R. Clear at St. Petri Lutheran Church in Toledo, September 13, 1941. Their union was blessed with two children, Doyle Jr. and Cheryl. Following their marriage the young couple made their home in Toledowhere they resided until 1947 when they moved to Waterville. She was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church and a member of the Mary Martha Circle. Until her last illness she attended the services at her Church without fail Sunday and communed regularly at its altar. Seven months ago she became ill.
