Caroline Elizabeth Clear - Obituary
 
 
Caroline E. Burns, age 86, of Monroe, MI passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at Mercy Memorial Hospital where she had been since June 21. She had been in declining health for a year. Caroline was born January, 7, 1922 in St. Ignace, MI the daughter of the late Charles C. and Fern I. (Place) Clear. On May 29, 1940 Caroline married Charles William Burns in Cheboygan, MI. they moved to Monroe in 1952. Sadly he preceded her in death on April 7, 1979. A homemaker, Caroline was a member of LaSalle Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed reading and painting.

Caroline is survived by 6 sons; Phillip (Helen) of Monroe, Gerald (Bonnie) of Jenison, MI, Richard (Brenda) of Powder Springs GA, Jack (Connie) of LaSalle, Robert (Lora) of Monroe, and Ronald E. of Monroe, 5 daughters; Violet Holte of Concorde, AR, Dorothy Burkey of Monroe, Esther Burns of Gallipolis, OH, Susan Parriet of Monroe, and Alice Burns of Midland, MI, 2 brothers; Burton Clear of Clio, MI and Charles Clear of RI, 5 sisters; Julia Coleman of Chesaning, MI, Margaret Savinski of Cheboygan, WI, Goldie Hoover of Grass Lake, MI, Belva Ann Bell of IA, and Norma Howe of Clio, MI. Also surviving are many grand and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband Caroline was preceded in death by infant twin sons Carl and Clyde, a grandson Jeff Parriett, and an infant great grandson Isaac. Visitation will be held on Monday from 12 – 8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, where funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
